Overview

Rajasthan changes character as you travel from one city to the next. Jaipur’s royal courtyards and planned streets give way to Pushkar’s lakeside ghats, Jodhpur’s blue-painted old quarter, Jaisalmer’s golden sandstone and the lakefront palaces of Udaipur. This journey is built around those contrasts, with time to explore the cities rather than simply pass through them.

The Majestic Rajasthan Tour Package follows a proposed 9-day route through Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur. Begin with Jaipur’s historic monuments, spend time around Pushkar Lake, explore Mehrangarh Fort above Jodhpur’s old city and discover the lanes and carved havelis of Jaisalmer. The journey then continues to Udaipur for its royal palace complex and lakeside heritage.

One of the defining experiences is the contrast between Jaisalmer’s desert setting and Udaipur’s waterfront. In Jaisalmer, the itinerary allows time for the historic fort, traditional havelis and a possible sunset visit to Sam Sand Dunes. Udaipur offers a different pace, with palace courtyards, temples and views around Lake Pichola.

The suggested itinerary is designed for travellers who want a broad introduction to Rajasthan’s best-known heritage cities within one trip. It starts in Jaipur and ends in Udaipur, avoiding an unnecessary return drive to the original starting point. The final route, accommodation and included services should be confirmed before booking.

Tour Highlights

Tour Itinerary

Arrive in Jaipur and meet your driver at the agreed pickup point. Transfer to your hotel and settle in after the journey.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to explore a nearby market or take a short walk through the city. Keep this first day flexible rather than scheduling major monuments before you know your arrival time.

Overnight: Jaipur

Start the sightseeing day at Amber Fort, where courtyards, gateways and palace rooms reflect the city's royal history. Allow enough time to explore the main complex instead of treating it as a brief photo stop.

Continue to Jal Mahal for an exterior view across Man Sagar Lake. Then head towards the historic centre to visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Finish with Hawa Mahal, known for its distinctive pink façade and rows of small windows.

If time allows, browse the local markets for textiles, jewellery and handicrafts. The order of visits may be adjusted according to opening hours and traffic.

Overnight: Jaipur

Leave Jaipur for Pushkar and check in after arrival. The journey shifts the focus from Jaipur's monumental royal architecture to a smaller town whose character centres on its sacred lake, ghats and temple district.

Spend the afternoon around Pushkar Lake, walking along the ghats and exploring the nearby lanes. If the temple is open and your schedule allows, visit Brahma Temple. Dress respectfully around religious sites and follow local instructions near the lake.

Leave time to explore the market streets, where clothing, handicrafts and devotional items are sold alongside cafés and local shops.

Overnight: Pushkar

Spend the morning in Pushkar if your schedule allows, then travel to Jodhpur. After arrival and hotel check-in, use the remaining time for a relaxed introduction to the old city.

Explore the Clock Tower and Sardar Market area if time permits. The market streets offer a glimpse of everyday commerce as well as opportunities to browse spices, textiles and local handicrafts. Keep the main fort visit for the following day so you are not forced to rush through it after the drive.

Overnight: Jodhpur

Visit Mehrangarh Fort, which rises above Jodhpur and provides views across the city's closely packed neighbourhoods. Explore the fort's courtyards, gates and palace spaces, allowing time for the exhibits included with your ticket.

Continue to Jaswant Thada, known for its pale stonework and peaceful setting. Later, walk through part of the old city around the Clock Tower and nearby market lanes. Jodhpur is particularly rewarding on foot in these areas, where blue-painted houses, narrow streets and small shops create a different experience from the large monuments.

Overnight: Jodhpur

Travel from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, the desert city known for its golden sandstone architecture. After arrival, check into your hotel and take time to settle in.

If you arrive with daylight remaining, explore the area near the old city or enjoy an evening walk. The main fort and haveli visits are planned for the next day, so you can explore them without squeezing everything into a late arrival.

Overnight: Jaisalmer

Start with Jaisalmer Fort and its network of narrow lanes, where homes, shops and historic buildings sit within the fort complex. Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli and other selected heritage houses to see the detailed sandstone carvings and traditional façades.

Later, travel towards Sam Sand Dunes for the Thar Desert landscape and sunset. Camel rides, jeep safaris and cultural performances may be available as optional experiences, but they should be arranged only after confirming the cost and availability.

You can return to Jaisalmer for the night or stay at a desert camp if that option is included in the final package.

Overnight: Jaisalmer or desert camp, as confirmed

Travel from Jaisalmer to Udaipur. This is a substantial road-transfer day, so plan for a relatively early departure and do not add multiple sightseeing stops along the way without checking the timing.

After arriving in Udaipur, check in and enjoy a quieter evening around your hotel or the nearby lakefront if time permits. Save the main city sights for the next day.

Overnight: Udaipur

Begin the final day at Udaipur's City Palace, where courtyards, galleries and views over Lake Pichola reveal the city's royal history. Continue to Jagdish Temple and the surrounding historic streets if the schedule allows.

Spend some time around the lakefront before transferring to Udaipur Airport, Railway Station or your agreed drop-off point. If you have an early departure, the sightseeing schedule should be shortened to protect the onward connection.

The tour concludes in Udaipur. Any return to Jaipur or onward transfer to another city must be agreed separately.
