On arrival in Agra, meet your local guide and head to the Taj Mahal.

Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is known for its white marble, symmetrical design and intricate stone inlay. Early morning is a popular time to visit because the changing light gives the marble a different appearance throughout the visit.

Allow up to around three hours for the Taj Mahal visit, including time to walk through the complex, see the gardens, hear the history from your guide and take photographs.

The exact light, visibility and crowd levels vary by date and season. Winter fog can sometimes affect visibility, so a sunrise tour cannot guarantee a particular colour or photographic condition.
